On Friday afternoon, the Ellenville Nursery School unleashed a colorful crew of little witches, Spider-Men, dinosaurs, and at least one walking hot dog – with mustard! The lively parade of costumed youngsters made its way through the neighborhood along North Main Street, then returned to the school, spirits high, accompanied by teachers and parents.

The parade was the grand finale of Halloween festivities for the Ellenville Nursery School community. The day was filled with fun, including a costume fashion show, indoor pumpkin carving, and a little trick-or-treat practice in the school’s backyard.

Aryonna C. Davis, affectionately known as “Ms. Onna,” the school’s Program Director, explained the spirit behind the celebration: “We like to keep traditional lines for Halloween. We just want to keep that excitement, the kids really feel it. With our alumni and teachers we can definitely do that.”

Now celebrating 65 years, Ellenville Nursery School is a nonprofit organization serving children ages 3 to 5. The school’s biggest fundraiser of the year, its annual auction, will take place online on December 12. Items will be up for bid throughout the evening, with proceeds helping support the school and the children it serves.

For 65 years, Ellenville Nursery School has been an important part of the village community, bringing generations of young children and families together. To learn more about the school or its annual auction, call 845-647-6405 or email ensauction@gmail.com.
